BCCP has key partners around the world who are actively engaged in the global partnership project. Our partners contribute and share innovative resources and scientific information with BCCP.

The interdisciplinary nature of cosmology requires collaboration with a variety of international institutions and programs. BCCP is currently engaging the global community with a focus on research and education collaborations in several countries. Professor Smoot has received appointments as the director of two separate centers of cosmology - the Institute for the Early Universe, EWHA Woman’s University, Seoul, South Korea; and the Paris Center of Cosmological Physics, University Pierre and Marie Curie (Paris VI), Paris, France. The following are BCCP collaborators:

Programs

The Institute for the Early Universe at EWHA Womans University (IEU) in Seoul, Korea will provide education and training, conduct research, and participate in major space projects. IEU is supported by EWHA University and the World Class University (WCU) project. WCU is the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology project designed to upgrade research levels of Korean universities. The Institute for the Early Universe will also be a partner in the Cosmology on the Beach seminars hosted by BCCP, The Institute for Advanced Cosmology, and the Universe Cluster.

AIMS welcomed a stellar group of scientists and engineers to the launch of the NextEinstein initiative and the opening of the AIMS Research Centre. The group included the famous cosmologist Stephen Hawking, the NASA Administrator Michael Griffin, and the winners of the 2004 and 2006 Nobel Prizes in Physics - David Gross and George Smoot. Many distinguished pan-African and international scientists, business and technology leaders, and political representatives also participated in the event. Read more about AIMS - PDF
