Special Relativity and General Relativity

Three hours of lecture (TuTh 11-12:30) and one hour of discussion per week.
Prerequisites: 105, 110A or consent of the instructor.
A general course on Special Relativity and introduction to General Relativity.
- Historical and experimental foundations of
Albert Einstein's special theory of
relativity;
- spatial and temporal measurements;
- particle dynamics;
- electrodynamics;
- particle kinematics; - useful for particle, nuclear, and cosmic ray physics
- introduction to General Relativity;
- selected applications.
