Astromag on Space Station
Astromag is second generation space-borne cosmic ray experiment to follow on our balloon-borne and the HEAO satellite superconducting magnet instruments. (I do not have a page yet for the HEAO satellite work.)
Some interesting photographs:
Astromag on Space Station a sketch made by George Smoot
for Astromag project tee-shirts.
Though we have sold out of COBE t-shirts we still have available
essentially all sizes (children's through xx-large) of these
all-cotton t-shirts.

This artist's sketch shows Astromag separated from its two
experiments that fasten to each end.
Astromag was designed to have useful magnetic field at either
end so that two experiments could pursue independent objectives
simultaneously.
The experiments can be attached and removed for upgrades, repairs,
or replacement with new experiments.
