The file "max2gu.dat" contains the Gamma Ursae Minoris observation binned data from the second flight of the Millimeter-wave Anisotropy eXperiment (MAX2). The analysis is described in detail in Alsop et al. 1992, Ap. J. 395, 317.
The scan strategy and data reduction differ significantly from other MAX observations. First, we used a step scan strategy instead of a smooth scan strategy. Second, we applied an 11.4 mHz highpass filter to the data to remove excess low frequency noise. Please don't forget to account for these differences in your analyses.
There are three bands centered at 6, 9, and 12 cm-1. The 12 cm-1 band is included as a veto for interstellar dust; it should not be included in any CMBR analysis. This file does not include the 12 cm-1 data.
We have divided the data set into two time periods to minimize the effect of sky rotation. Rotation number in column 1 references each time period. Each of the 2 rotations is divided into 7 azimuth bins. The rotations are given sequentially in the data set.
There are 8 columns and 14 rows in the file. In column 4, positive is in the direction of positive azimuth. Temperatures are in antenna temperature difference units. To convert from antenna temperature differences to CMBR temperature differences, scale by

6 | 3.08 |
