MAXIMA Telemetry Overview & Documentation
The MAXIMA telemetry system includes the onboard electronics of the data acquisition system, the actual transmitting circuitry, receiver systems, and ground station for recording the data. It also includes the command system. More detail on these various subsystems can be found as follows:
-
DAS is the onboard data acquisition system which gathers the input signals from the various sensors and combines them into the telemetry stream.
-
S.I.M. incorporates pointing data into the telemetry stream.
-
Telemetry transmitting system is the electronics that takes the digital data stream from the DAS and transmits it to the ground.
-
Telemetry Receiver Systems are the various components including antennas and receiver electronics that gather the telemetry and turn it into the biphase signal that goes to the ground station
-
Telemetry Ground Station is the system which accepts the biphase telemetry signal from the ground receiver system and decodes it and records it for future analysis.
